Did you know that the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) recommends wellness examinations for all cats, of all ages, at least once a year?¹
Wellness exams are a type of proactive health care, focusing on maintaining good health and habits and preventing illness. Instead of waiting until your cat has a problem, you bring your cat to a veterinarian for regular check-ups to make sure that he/she is in good health, and to detect any early problems which may be developing. You can then follow recommended preventative courses of action, such as getting vaccinations to protect against disease and/or administering treatments to prevent parasites. During wellness visits, you also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss any general concerns you may have about your cat's diet, environment, behavior, etc.
At Nine Lives Cat Center, we believe that focusing on wellness can help your cat have the best quality of life possible. During your cat's wellness visit, Dr. Amy MacKay—a feline veterinarian with over 25 years of experience—will perform a comprehensive physical examination and recommend individualized services depending on your cat's age, health, and lifestyle. She will answer your questions, listen to your concerns, and help guide you to make choices which will enhance your cat's overall well-being.
